The Full Story
Gianna Stewart-Markert is a New England–based performer, sharing her time between Boston and New York City. After relocating to New York to study Musical Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, she quickly made the city her artistic home, grounding her work in rigorous conservatory training while maintaining an active connection to the regional theatre community. With over ten years of sustained experience in theatre, Gianna is trained in voice, movement, and text-based performance.

A mezzo-soprano (F3–C6), she brings versatility across contemporary and classic musical theatre, with an affinity for character-driven storytelling and emotionally grounded performances. Her performance experience includes a wide range of roles—from leading ladies such as Carrie White (Carrie: The Musical), Cady Heron (Mean Girls), and Jane Seymour (SIX), to nuanced character work in productions including Into the Woods, Chicago, and Songs for a New World. Gianna’s training at AMDA emphasized disciplined vocal technique, ensemble-based acting, and a collaborative rehearsal process. She has studied with respected instructors in voice, acting, dance, and musical theatre performance, developing a strong foundation in jazz, ballet, and contemporary and classical theatrical movement, alongside classical acting technique. Known for her preparation, generosity, and adaptability in the room, she approaches each project with curiosity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to truthful storytelling.
